A trip to the moon!

In November 2023, some members of the Young Creatives group and some members of the adults’ Crafternoon group joined together for an intergenerational trip to see the Museum of the Moon installation in Rotherham.

Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s actual surface.

We had a great time and felt particularly inspired by the size and ‘reality’ of the moon – we took a lot of selfies! We also enjoyed meeting and making friends with people of different ages in the group.

We are recruiting!
